Resveratrol – The Benefits of Resveratrol

Friday, November 6th, 2009

There are generally two types of individual: the first will eat anything they like the second will to a strict diet. You probably know someone who is quite happy to eat other people’s leftovers and always has seconds! The triple chocolate gateau is sitting there on the kitchen table and you just can’t resist. There are lots of us that do it, eat just about anything with no worries about the consequences, just for the sake of eating; never considering the benefits of health supplements. Resveratrol is produced by plants as an antifungal chemical. It is found in widely varying amounts in the skin of grapes, in peanuts, berries of Vaccinum species, including blueberries, bilberries, and cranberries

This is not as unusual as it seems because many of us are like this and completely ignorant of the consequences of our over indulgence. It must be obvious that food consumption of this type is going to be bad for your health in the long term so perhaps you need to start planning ahead and replace these bad habits with good ones like taking health supplements. These supplements often give you far more than you realize short term and long term. I’ve had people tell me they don’t like using them and then in the same breath tell me that they have never tried them to start with.

There are thousands of different types so I would suggest you try a few before you make a comment. Besides, the ones I’m referring to are the very pleasant health supplements that are flavored with chocolate, vanilla and banana for instance. Personally, I take two types of supplements and one of those is a multivitamin that I’ve been taking for so many years I have lost count. Why everyone doesn’t take one of these on a regular basis I just don’t understand because it makes so much sense and takes no time at all out of your day.

Another good health supplement I take is a shake called whey protein which I simply love. I suppose it’s the fact that you get so much protein and goodness from what is essentially a milk shake. The best thing about it is you can drink it at almost anytime although I enjoy mine around lunchtime. The other benefit is that they add about 30 grams of protein which really benefits muscle growth.

The thing about new-age health supplements is that they’re really geared to give you all the good stuff and keep out the bad. So things like salt, sugar, cholesterol and saturated fat to name a few, which we already get too much of, aren’t in them. The next step is easy if you are still with me, and that is to log onto the internet and take a look to see how good health supplements are for you in the long term.
